CONCEPT:
The screen interfaces, graphics, imagery and ambient sounds throughout the electronic exhibit provide a richly textured collage of layered visuals continually punctuated by real video images and the 250 well articulated short video clips of material edited from the many hour-long interviews with the 14 invited guests of the virtual panel. (These short video clips range from about 16 seconds to about 1.5 minutes each with a collective total time of 2.5 hours video) The visitor first selects a topic in the "TOPICS FORUM". There are 7 topics to choose from: EXPLORING, FORECASTING, QUALITY OF LIFE, COMMUNITY, COMMUNICATING, TECHNOLOGY, ETHICS. In each topic the visitor may select and listen to a wide range of perspectives and comments (short video clips) from the invited guests of the virtual panel in that topic area. When inspired to leave a personal comment on innovation and technology, a visitor selects the "RECORDING FORUM" where she/he may leave a real-time 15 second video/audio comment to be accessed in real-time by other visitors. A museum visitor may listen to other visitors' comments, as well as their own recently recorded comment, in the "VISITORS FORUM".
